  1. Hey guys,

Again, congratulations for capturing and publishing the thoughts of this guy.

Whatever criticisms people may have about his design legacy, it’s admirable that he’s now using his status as a thought leader to actually talk out about some of the issues affecting the industry. Sure, he’s talking about super cars here which -if we’re honest- are of fairly minor importance. But I’m really hoping it’s the start of more open debate from our peers on where we’re heading.

If you’re interested, I’ve written a piece summing up my thoughts here: http://senseworldwide.posterous.com/speaking-your-mind-in-the-automotive-sector-0

Keep up the great work guys and let’s keep the conversation going.

    Cheers,

    Drew

  2. Hi Drew and CDN,

I totally agree here with you. Currently I am doing my thesis on argumentation in automotive design. Using CDN and the A&D magazine as references. It is quite striking how critics differ and how designers argument on their decisions. However what is fundamental to my research is to examine how a designer reflects his work in the context of automotive design today. What are the constraints they are working with and what is true car design today.
CDN is one that seriously starting a debate on what the issues are for the automotive designer, and tries to confront them. All in all it is an extremely complex industry that sometimes see cheerful designers accomplish a new step in breaking with status quo’s. Reminding you that mostly of the time they talk about “fighting” over new design cues with the rest of the organization. This week CDN live provided me with great short insights of things and opinions that are happening today. Thank you for this.

  6. Great video and fantastic Geneva blog, full of insights and opinions! I hope you’ll do more of this kind of thing.

What do you think Bangle meant about the A-pillars on the Veyron? They’re not “supercar” enough?
